Alfred Zaher focuses his practice on patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret litigation and appeals, prosecution, opinions, licensing, transactions and agreements, and strategic counseling. Mr. Zaher has experience representing clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Copyright Office, and Federal and State Courts.
Mr. Zaher counsels companies in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, electronic, and software industries, and the creative and performing arts. Mr. Zaher has obtained and defended our client’s intellectual property interests throughout the United States, and in all countries where protection is available through our network of international intellectual property professionals. We have significant experience defending trademarks in China having developed close relationships with Chinese officials and law firms.
Both Mr. Zaher and his partner Mr. Li have a particular focus on managing clients’ patent and trademark portfolios in China, including securing and prosecuting infringers in the Chinese court system.
Mr. Zaher has represented large and small companies, and individuals in all manner of intellectual property matters for 25 years. Prior to forming Zaher Li, Mr. Zaher chaired and managed the Intellectual Property Departments at nationally recognized law firms in Philadelphia, served in numerous leadership positions such as a Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer, where he was responsible for overseeing, implementing, and providing leadership for the advancement of all individuals.
Mr. Zaher has extensive experience in engineering and technology. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Zaher was a research engineer with more than 12 years of experience with The Boeing Company and Litton Industries.
